Inspired by Anthropologie (again)

I got the best surprise in my mailbox last month - a one time discount card from Anthropologie for their suppliers to be used in the month of June. I know that Anthropologie isn't a person, but if it was, I would give it a big hug and say THANK YOU. Back home, I lived less than five minutes from one of their stores, and now I still live in driving distance, but it is more of a trek. I now had a reason to make that trek (not that I needed one) - and a reason to shop at my favorite store. I had the chance to visit two stores (the Birmingham location and the one here in Mississippi). Both stores were different (I love how no two stores are exactly alike) and both were full of inspiration and tons of style.

I saw an article the other day on Design*Sponge that profiled an art exhibit of Vera Neumann's silk scarf collection at Anthropologie in Rockefeller Center. They were so inspired by her beautiful work that they launched a home goods and clothing line based on her original artwork. It's really worth reading more about it here - you will be left very inspired. I would love to see that collection in person. I used to dabble in silk scarf painting so I have a real appreciation for it - and Vera's work is the best of the best.

So Anthropologie does it again. They continue to inspire! Now if only they would let this be a traveling exhibit - and maybe start exhibiting other artist's work in their stores.

Andrew recently told me that I have a crush on Anthropologie. I think he's right. Kira
